Not only were Mr. RA and I doing a 7 week tour, but we had some other full week residencies happening in Victoria BC for 3 weeks @Happy Valley ES and @Millstream ES with Lishai Peel (Spoken word artist from Toronto and Stewart Inguidez from Vancouver)!

So happy because we randomly ran into each other on the Ferrie going from Victoria to Vancouver!

On Wednesday of my first week I had to take a short ferris ride over to Denman Island! This was a really small school with only 30 students, so they invited students from Hornby Island to come join us!

Students @C.M Finch ES in Fort St. John loved their workshops with Mr. RA, they even said, "are you coming back sir?...cause your really cool!"!

Day 4 was a blast @Savory ES in Victoria BC! After I finished teaching, I had to get on the Ferrie and head back to Vancouver....next stop Abbotsford BC.

It was a happy Friday @McMillan Elementary school in Abbotsford! The day was a huge success! Ms. Lentender was so welcoming and even shared some amazing resources on dance education! We finished the day with a flashmob to Uptown Funk!!!

Mean while Raul was busting moves with students in Vanderhoof BC....about 6 hours south of Fort St. John.

On Monday May 4th, Ms. Carla joined me @Glenwood ES in Burnaby! We're super excited to have her part of our West Coast Luv2Groove team of Educators!

I had so much fun with the students and teachers @Simonds ES in Langley!!! One of the most well behaved and respectful schools I've been too! Even the Principal danced with us!!!!

Some kind words from the staff and students @Don Christian ES:

"Thank you for coming to our school today. You are clearly a talented dancer and educator and your energy was infectious. The students were fully engaged for the entire time and their smiles were from ear to ear. You taught them to enjoy "groovin" and allowed them to learn and dance freely in a safe space - both physically and psychologically.
I would recommend your wonderful workshop to all other educators from all age ranges. Thank you for coming to our school today!"

Jane Block
Grade 5/6 Teacher

"Dear Julia, your awesome moves made us energetic and positive. I loved when you taught us how to groove and have fun to the beat. Your work of dance is amazing it inspired us to have fun and be positive. You made all of our inner dancers come out and you made us feel so alive, awake, and super confident to bust a move. Especially when we went in the dance circle, and how we showed off our funky dance moves. Your workshop was amazing because we’re all being ourselves and we’re showing our groovy dance moves without being perfect. You taught us how it’s okay if we mess up, because it still looks awesome and groovy. You’re an amazing person, a very talented dancer, and an awesome positive person. We all hope you have fun on your Luv2Groove Tour; hopefully someday you’ll come back here to Don Christian Elementary, have an amazing time. Peace

Students Kim and Brandy, Gr. 5/6
